Tea Khalifa, an African-Finnish actress, model, dancer, presenter, and TV host, grew up in Helsinki with a Finnish mother and Chadian father. Summers spent in Eastern Finland bonded her deeply with nature, where she enjoyed berry picking, sauna sessions, and playing 'Mokkipallo'. Early on, Tea discovered her passion for performing, starting with school plays and fueled by admiration for artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Her dance journey began with ballet, jazz, and hip-hop classes, leading to a role with StepUp Dancers at 18, performing across Europe and featuring in music videos and fashion shows. During this time, she landed her first acting role on the TV show ’Team Ahma’. Tea's career expanded into TV hosting when she unexpectedly was cast as the first ever host on MoonTV, transitioning the gaming channel into music programming. She later became a host on the iconic 'JYRKI' and ventured into various shows, including dating and survival formats. Tea also got her first writing credits working on Finland’s popular candid camera show 'NAURUPARTIO'.
After studying at theatre school (the Stanislavski method) and performing in theater and film roles in Finland, Tea moved to Los Angeles in 2018, drawn by a longstanding love for the city. She has since enjoyed recurring roles on 'Grey's Anatomy' and now pursues interests in cooking, film, and storytelling, inspired by luminaries such as George Lucas. An advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and animal welfare, Tea is committed to promoting women's rights and gender equality.
